This policy explains what Fig Tree Patisserie collects through figtreepatisserie.com, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
Who we are
Fig Tree Patisserie, 3062 Delaware Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14217. Phone 716-436-3001. We are the data controller for anything collected through this website.
What we collect
Only what you type into the contact form: your name, email address, your phone number if you choose to give one, and your message. There is no account system, no newsletter sign-up and no online payment on this site.
Our web host keeps standard server logs, which record the IP address, browser and pages requested for each visit. These are generated by the hosting platform for security and troubleshooting, and we do not use them to build profiles of visitors.
Why we collect it
To answer your enquiry and, if you go on to place an order, to arrange it. That is the only purpose. We do not use your details for marketing unless you ask us to.
Cookies and local storage
We do not run advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and there are no third-party trackers on this site.
- Cookie choice. When you accept or decline the notice at the bottom of the page, we store that choice in your browser's local storage so we do not ask again. It contains nothing but your answer.
- Accessibility settings. If you use the accessibility toolbar, your settings are stored in your browser's local storage on your own device so they persist between visits. They are never sent to us.
- Contact form session. Submitting the contact form uses a temporary PHP session cookie to hold the spam-check answer. It expires when you close your browser.
You can clear all of these at any time through your browser's settings for this site.
Who we share it with
Nobody. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. Contact form messages are delivered to the bakery's own inbox by our web host, which processes them only to deliver the email.
How long we keep it
Contact messages stay in the bakery inbox for as long as they are useful for the order or the conversation they relate to, and are deleted on request at any time. Server logs are rotated by the host on its own schedule.
Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Residents of California have specific rights under the CCPA and CPRA, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to request deletion, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. Residents of the EU and UK have equivalent rights under the GDPR.
To exercise any of these, call 716-436-3001 or write through the contact form. We will respond within 30 days.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
Links to other sites
Our pages link to Facebook, Instagram and Google Maps. Once you follow a link, that company's own privacy policy applies. The map on our contact page does not load, and contacts no Google server, until you choose to load it.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS, so traffic between your browser and our server is encrypted. No system is perfect, and we do not ask for payment details, passwords or sensitive personal information anywhere on this website.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
